Letter from the President (6/7/10)
Dear PACONS members:
Im writing today to ask you for an incredibly important favor.
Im a member of the Board of Directors for Crossing the Finish Line, a 501c3 organization that sends young adult cancer patients and their caregivers on all-expense paid respite vacations to take a break from cancer treatment. Since 1999, Crossing the Finish Line has sent away 800+ cancer patients and more than 3,000 caregivers.
The Executive Director and Founder of Crossing the Finish Line, Marci Schankweiler, has just been named an All-Star Among Us by People magazine.
Marci now has the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be recognized at the 2010 Major League Baseball game in Anaheim this July if she receives the most votes from the three Philadelphia-area nominees. As you can understand, this national recognition could be a monumental opportunity to grow Crossing the Finish Line and service so many more deserving cancer patients and their families.
If youre willing to help us, I am asking you to do the following:
1. Visit http://www.mlb.com/peopleallstarsamongus/.
Click on the Philadelphia Phillies tab and cast your vote for Marci Schankweiler. You can do this as many times as you wish every day until June 20. I will be reminding you no worries!
Thanks and remember, there is no limit to the amount of times you can vote!!! PLEASE pass this email on to whomever else might help in our efforts&remember, it is like voting for the all-stars&there is no limit to the amount of votes you can cast&it is all about volume&.thanks for your time and effort. I have been involved with this organization for over 10 years- it is the BEST of the BEST&.many thanks&.
With warm regards,
Trish Gambino
